Are Trees Affected by Karma?
| Dec 21, 2023
Karma means action, work, or deed. The principle of karma is based on the idea that an individual’s intent and action (cause) influences the future of that individual (effect).
We create karma with every deed. Even when doing nothing, we create karma. What is a tree’s karma? Trees love to give positive karma: air, shade, shelter, peace, protection, and the list goes on. How we treat trees effects these outcomes positively or negatively because karma that is created is shared with your plant life.
Different actions result in different karma. When we take a proactive approach to managing our plant life, we create a karma that is more pleasing to deal with than procrastination karma. For example, if you neglect a plant either because of your ignorance or your procrastination the end result will be a stressed plant. However, taking an active role in your plant’s life will produce an abundance of delightful karma. For example, you can prune trees to produce a positive karma in your life. Pruning a flowering plant at the right time can produce an abundance of flowers, which in turn, supplies the bees with something to do. However, pruning at the wrong time can result in a plant with no flowers (sometimes for years) because the action disrupts the plant’s natural flow.
In conclusion this arborist believes trees are affected by our karma. Twenty-five years of experience is nothing compared to a tree that is over 500 years old but I have seen trees grow and die because of our karma.
